Expansion continues for Thomas Carrol,l the Welsh insurance, risk and wealth management company, with the opening of a new office in the rapidly-developing Clytha Park district of Newport.

Claire Humphries, a longstanding Director at Thomas Carroll, who will lead the Newport team, said: “The office is the group’s sixth and makes a strong statement about our belief in the strength of the local business community.

"We are excited to open our doors in Newport and look forward to being part of the ongoing local regeneration. The move brings us closer to our clients and professional contacts in the area.

"There is a business buzz in Newport and we have recognised that by deploying a strong team to help support local companies and business owners with independent and Chartered advice around insurance, wealth management and health and safety.”

Joining the team are two newly-appointed, local insurance brokers Tim Putin and Murray James.

The appointments demonstrate the group’s investment in Newport as a growing business hub.

Tim joins Thomas Carroll with 10 years commercial insurance and loss adjusting experience. Previously working with Bluefin he specialities in property, leisure and manufacturing.

With 23 years in the industry, Murray knows Newport well having lived in the area all his life.

Claire Humphries said: “Tim and Murray have a wealth of experience and are keen to spend time with companies to ensure their business has the right cover. Their knowledge and local understanding are an asset to the office and I’m delighted to welcome them to the team.”

Thomas Carroll has further invested in the new location by transferring Vanessa Williams and Brian Watson from their offices in Caerphilly and Swansea. Brian is an experienced insurance account manager and Vanessa will provide a dedicated service to SMEs.
