HOLIDAY park operator Parkdean has revealed 2015 will be its biggest year yet for investment into its holiday parks across the UK.

Parkdean will invest £13.2m across its 24 parks located in Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Devon, Norfolk, Dorset and Hampshire, which comes hot on the heels of a strong start to the year with 25 per cent growth in bookings.

Continuous improvement in Parkdean’s recognised quality fleet will see £6.8m investment in accommodation including new holiday homes and lodges and a £1.7m investment into refurbishment of existing accommodation.

Growth in the high quality holiday lodge demand sees £800k being invested in a range of new lodges at its Ruda resort in Devon.

Seven new ranges of caravans will be unveiled in the 2015 season, all extra insulated with central heating and double glazing to provide comfort during the off peak season to allow holidaymakers as much choice as possible to visit across the year. New holiday home developments at Grannies and Newquay will also be unveiled this season.

John Waterworth, chief executive at Parkdean Holidays, said: “We had a very successful 2014 and this significant re-investment shows our confidence in our customer growth in 2015 and beyond. We are committed to providing the best holiday park accommodation in the UK market. Refurbishments and new caravan designs mean we can keep holiday-makers comfortable in a home-from-home environment plus we have noted a growing market for luxury lodge holidays and sales across the UK - the British staycation is a trend here to stay, whatever your budget.”

Showtime parks will be launching new stage shows this year and exciting new activities will be starting in the free kids’ clubs too.

Children will be wowed when they take part in the new ‘Totally Amazing’ activities where they learn and discover with Parkdean’s mad scientists and they won’t believe their eyes when characters from Parkdean’s new ‘Epic Tales’ series come to life to set all kinds of fun activities.

For those on Showtime parks, the new ‘Totally Amazing’ Stage Show features costumes, magic, illusions and crazy science while the new ‘Epic Tales’ story follows park characters Sid and Lizzie on an epic adventure with brave warrior Hua Mulan.

Family favourites such as ‘Vacation Nation’ and ‘90’s United’ will be reappearing on Showtime park stages and the fantastic new addition of ‘Vintage in Vogue’ will take favourite pop hits and present them in a classic vintage 1920’s style.

Parkdean is also introducing a new wi-fi upgrade across all 24 parks.
