Edwards Coaches has beaten off competition from coach tour operators across the UK to win four awards at the National Coach Tourism Awards 2015, held at the West Midlands Safari Park.

Jason Edwards, commercial director, collected the awards, which included Coach Tour Operator of the Year (large fleet), in front of more than 400 tourism professionals.

He said: “I am almost speechless. Everyone would like to win an award but to walk away with four totally exceeded my expectations. I will certainly remember this occasion for a long, long time."

The other awards scooped by Edwards were: Accommodation Provider (Individual Hotels) - Portbyhan Hotel, owned by Edwards Coaches; Coach Tourism Professional of the Year - Alan Clough, tours and contracts manager, Edwards Coaches; and Coach Driver of the Year - Glyn Bowden, Edwards Coaches.

Mr Edwards said: "I am so pleased that our hotel has been recognised, particularly after all the hard work which went into the recent refurbishments. Above all I am exceptionally proud of my staff, especially Alan Clough who has won the highest accolade bestowed by the industry, and Glyn Bowden, now undoubtedly the best UK coach tourism driver.

"This last year has seen extraordinary organisational growth and I would like to thank the whole workforce for their dedication, attention to detail and commitment, without which we would not have won the Coach Tour Operator Large Fleet award.”
