The 2017 Cruise & Maritime Voyages programme of sailing from Wales has been launched at an event at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.

With sailings starting from Newport Docks in June and Cardiff in May, sector business leaders got to meet the CMV team to find out more of what's in store for customers who want to sail from Wales.

Top people from CMV, Chris Coates, commercial director, Mike Hall, head of marketing, Bob McGowan, head of customer service, and Lisa Jacobs, head of trade sales, hosted some 50 VIP guests from across the region at the event.

Also in attendance were Karen Furnish and Suzanne Thomas from Cruise Wales, and Elizabeth Nash, from AB Ports, which is responsible for operating the major ports in Wales.

Chris Coates said CMV were committed to cruising from Wales and promised they would be back in 2018.

Marco Polo will be sailing from Cardiff to the Norwegian Fjords, Spain, Portugal and France and a Summertime Gardens and River Seine cruise, ideal for Garden lovers.

In addition, there are three exciting departures on board Magellan from Newport including a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords.

Magellan sails from Newport on June 4 on a two-night cruise across to Dublin with a return to Liverpool (a coach transfer is provided back to Newport). For a longer cruise Magellan continues on her voyage to the beautiful Norwegian Fjords making a total journey of 11 nights departing Newport on the same date, June 4.
