Actor TJ Miller was arrested after a driver accused him of battery, two days before he is due to host the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The Silicon Valley star, who will soon be seen in Office Christmas Party opposite Jennifer Aniston, will still host Sunday’s show.

Los Angeles police officer Drake Madison said TJ was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning.

The driver who accused him of battery wanted the star booked under a citizen’s arrest.

The officer said TJ was released on his own recognizance and was ordered to appear in court on January 9.

Joey Berlin, president of the organisation that bestows the Critics’ Choice Awards, said: “We look forward to seeing what he’s going to do on Sunday.”

TJ is best known for his role as Erlich Bachman in the comedy Silicon Valley, in which he plays the owner of a home that serves as headquarters for a fledgling tech start-up.
