You may or may not remember the ‘No More’ campaign against Domestic Violence.

It featured different celebrities saying things like “no more it’s none of my business”, “no more he said he was sorry” and “no more she was asking for it”, lobbying the NFL and professional sports on domestic violence issues.

But it turns out the outtakes might be even more powerful than the original clip made. Many of the famous faces, including Oscar winner Hilary Swank, got too upset to speak during the filming, and the snippets of silence where they couldn’t talk have been made into a new series for the No More movement.

It’s the raw, honest and unscripted nature of “Speechless” that seems to make it all the more powerful. The Joyful Heart Foundation campaign featured more than a dozen celebrities and athletes who were overcome with emotion during the original filming.

The idea is to show how domestic violence is a difficult thing to talk about and to urge viewers to start a conversation with friends and loved ones about it.

It wasn’t just Hilary Swank who got teary. American actors Megan Hilty, Kelli Giddish and Christopher Meloni were the same, as well as NFL player Cris Carter.

Other famous faces in the ‘speechless’ outakes include Mary J Blige, Bow Wow, and several other NFL players welling up.
