It was acceptable in the 80s. And if you’re The Hoff it still is.

David Hasselhoff has unveiled the music video for his new track True Survivor, and it truly is the cheesiest thing you will have seen in a long time.

But The Hoff’s crooning, his mullet, his denim and leather outfit and guns puns in the video are just the half of it.

Because True Survivor is on the soundtrack to new action comedy Kung Fury – a spoof 80s-inspired action comedy with a plot so bizarre, you couldn’t make it up.

It sees Hero Kung Fury set out to avenge the murder of his friend by the greatest Kung Fu master criminal of all time – Adolf Hitler, aka Kung Fuhrer.

So when The Hoff is singing about “a shadow from the past feeding the flame of fury” he means the Nazi leader.

The trailer sees Miami cop Kung Fury – played by Swedish writer, director and producer David Sandberg – battle Hitler and his valkryies with the help of dinosaurs, vikings, not to mention his skateboard.

All this while Baywatch star David sings: “We need some action, if we’re going to make it like a true survivor.”

It is not known when this 30-minute short film is due to hit screens, but in the meantime, you can enjoy the video online instead.
