MADE famous by the 2001 film, Legally Blonde is well-known to most girls of a certain generation, myself included. From sorority girl to lawyer, we follow Elle Woods on her journey to the top.

The film is a very hard act to follow, but the audience weren’t disappointed.

The opening night of the WAWWA production was great and the characters only got stronger as the show went on. The talented cast delivered both the entertainment and the comedy factor, putting their own twist on some of the scenes, with Paulette Bonafonte (Jessica Doolan) coming across as a particular favourite with the audience.

There were a few occasions when the band overpowered some of the smaller character’s microphones and the set changes weren’t always smooth, but the overall set design was very well done, portraying the popular story well.

It was a really fantastic effort by all those involved, especially when it came to keeping up the American accents and hitting some of those difficult high notes which occurred throughout, even while doing a skipping rope routine and the constant dancing that most of the scenes required.

The appearance of some cute four-legged friends just added to the already buzzing atmosphere.
