Carol Vorderman said the female contestants on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! series have provided “three-dimensional role models” for girls.

Her comments came as she read through newspaper and magazine articles praising her experience on the ITV show.

Speaking on the programme’s Coming Out special on Wednesday, she said: “There are not enough role models for girls who don’t want to be just one-dimensional, but three-dimensional, to show them the way. Like Scarlett (Moffatt) and Sam (Quek).”

She also laughed over headlines that labelled her as “saucy” and sparked rumours over romance with fellow contestant, comedian Joel Dommett.

Hockey star Sam added on leaving the jungle: “I just wanted to be a role model for younger girls to show them that, yeah, sport is cool.”

The athlete, 28, also revealed that she shared a personal heartfelt message with her partner Tom Mairs while in the jungle, by etching the numbers “143″ onto her hat, meaning “I love you”.

It was an emotional exit for most of the contestants as they were driven from the Australian jungle to the Palazzo Versace hotel, where a crowd of their friends and family were waiting.

Dancer Jordan Banjo, who struck up a close bond with actor Larry Lamb, said: “Larry was more than a mate, he actually looked out for me.

“There were times when, if it wasn’t for him, I think I would have walked.”

Larry admitted to viewers: “Jordan became another son to me. When I left the camp, it hit me like a train.”

But commenting on his frostier relationship with TV presenter Martin Roberts, he said: “Martin would not be the sort of person I would go out with socially.

“That concentrated time together makes things bubble to the surface.”

When Martin’s wife, Kirsty, mentioned that Larry had described him as a “lower middle-class snob,” he responded: “How silly to be like that when loads of people are watching that.”

There was also a touch of tension as Wayne Bridge was reunited with his wife and The Saturday’s star, Frankie, who was not impressed about comments he had made about their personal life while on the show.

“I could have killed you when you started talking about our sex life,” she said. “I was watching with my mum.”

She added: “I got a bit tired of women telling me how lucky I am.”

But it was an especially tearful occasion for Scarlett, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle and winner of the competition.

She was greeted by her whole family who took her straight to get a chicken kebab.

On her drive away from the jungle she told them: “It’s just nice to know that you’re accepted, that people don’t mind you.”

As the jungle contestants were reunited after a chance to freshen up, Jordan said that there was one person who was “always positive,” no matter what happened.

“Scarlett, you were a star,” he said.

All of the former camp mates agreed they had the “best” time getting to know each other on the show, and Larry added: “I know I will love them forever.”
