Transported to a fairytale
1:56pm Wednesday 10th October 2007 in Leisure
With fairy-tale landscapes, Christmas attractions and magic in the air, it's little surprise that Santa Claus chose the snowy wilderness of Lapland to be his home.
Now he invites children big and small to visit him and enjoy all the fun and excitement of this winter wonderlandand you can fly there direct from Cardiff Airport with First Choice.
You can experience the magic on a Santa's Secret Grotto day trip, where your special day can be as action-packed or magically relaxed as you like. Departing from Cardiff Airport early on Sunday, December 2, you will fly into Roveniemi.
On arrival in the resort the friendly elves will greet you and take you to Santa's Secret Grotto, where you'll receive your Lappish passport and a special keepsake to take home with you.
Then visit the dressing room where you'll be wrapped from head to toe in a snug outfit to help you keep warm in the snow.
You will then be set to try reindeer driving and husky sleigh riding, or even snowmobiling.
Meet Old Man Reindeer and listen to stories about the Arctic Circle-crossing ceremony.
Visit Elf School and learn the secrets of Santa's famous little helpers before your elf graduation, and decorate cookies in the Elf Bakery. Most importantly, everyone gets to meet the man himself, Santa.
Santa's elves then take you back to the airport and, flying home that night, everyone will be mulling over their with magical memories.
The perfect treat for your children or grandchildren this December, Lapland is a magical winter wonderland perfect for the whole family and a truly amazing experience.
