Campaign aims to tackle mental health stigma
7:00pm Tuesday 23rd October 2012 in News
A NATIONAL campaign aims to end stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems.
Programme manager at Time to Change Wales Cath Lindley said it is a long-term project, as the Welsh Government prepares to launch its mental health strategy ‘Together for Mental Health’.
Time to Change Wales says stigma and discrimination are key issues for people with mental health problems.
“Stigma is a huge issue to the one in four of us who experience mental health problems, so the Welsh Government’s co-funding of Time to Change Wales, along with Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief will really help make a difference to people’s lives,” said Ms Lindley.
Time to Change Wales is delivered by a partnership of three leading mental health charities in Wales – Gofal, Hafal and Mind Cymru.
