11:40am Wednesday 13th March 2013 in News
THE daughters of a taxi company owner who died will continue running his business in their beloved father’s memory.
George Lewis, 73, of Rockleigh Avenue, Aberbargoed, died on January 24, after suffering from lung cancer.
Mr Lewis was well known in the area after running George’s Taxis, Blackwood, for the past six years.
Now his daughters Jayne Strong, Carol Lewis, Jacqueline Littlewood and Amanda Lewis will continue the business.
Mrs Strong said: “We’ve got to carry it on for him.”
Mr Lewis had been ill since September but had only been diagnosed with the condition on January 3.
Mrs Strong said: “He built the company from one car into a thriving business with ten employees.
“As long as he was driving, he was happy. That was his life. He was known by a lot of people and was a cheeky chap.”
