BEDWAS Chemical Corporation celebrated its 30th anniversary by giving every employee a free flutter on the horses.
Chemical Corporation is a UK authorised distributor of Mobil Lubricants and Greases since 1983, and combined the celebration of their 30th year with a staff member’s 25 years of service award.
The rest of the team will enjoy a day at Royal Ascot in the summer to mark their 30th anniversary, where they will all receive £20 to bet on a horse.
The company started in Cardiff with just 12 staff but in 1996 moved to Bedwas, and now has 44 people working for them.
Chemical Corporation is the biggest Exxon Mobile oil company, as one of only three distributers in the UK, that is also the biggest wind farm servicer, voted for the second time as the top distributer in all of Europe.
Managing director, Alan Barham, believes this award is a good reflection on his staff.
He said, “The company was formed over 30 years ago and now there are only two original members left, Gerry Oldham and Ian Stevens.
“We believe that by employing people more intelligent than you are, you never go wrong.
“All our staff are very loyal which provides the company with stability and this is shown through members of staff such as Debbie Powell, receiving their 25 years award.”
Debbie received a bouquet of flowers and a Marks and Spencer voucher from al the staff.
Mr Barham added: “As a company we reinvest in ourselves. The Welsh Assembly has done this through supporting us and helping us to grow.”
