VALUABLE RESOURCE: Pupils try out the new ICT suite at Newbridge Comprehensive. Overseeing Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils is ICT head Jennette Williams
A NEW £10,000 IT suite has opened at Newbridge Comprehensive School where a little-used staff room was converted to give youngsters more chance to develop their computer skills.
The school, which already has a BECTA Quality Mark for IT, is committed to progressing pupils’ online skills to ensure they are ready for the world of work.
The Brecon Suite, named after one of the school’s houses, boasts new computers and interactive white boards and adds to the four IT rooms pupils already have access to.
Head teacher Leslie Perry said this was part of the school’s commitment to making sure pupils have upto- date resources: “We are proud to be still developing our facilities here for the good of our learners.”
