Man bailed after fatal Cefn Hengoed crash

THE man arrested following a fatal road crash in Cefn Hengoed on Saturday has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The collision, between a pedestrian and a black BMW, happened on Hengoed Crescent at about 12.55pm. The pedestrian, an 18-year-old man from Cefn Hengoed, was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil where he was pronounced dead.
The 29-year-old driver of the BMW, who has now been released on bail, was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have seen a black BMW Compact being driven in and around the area at that time to contact them on 101 and quote log number 263 28/9/13.
