FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a disused school in Blackwood.

Two fire engines from Cefn Fforest and one from Abercarn with a water bowser from Caerphilly are at the scene.

The three-storey disused school building is "heavily smoke logged".

A Caerphilly council spokesman said that the building was currently vacant and had not been used as a school for at least a decade.
