THIS little tortoiseshell kitten is one of the cats and kittens who will be looking for a new home next Saturday.

The four month old came into the care of the Gwent branch of Cats Protection from the Hengoed area, when her owner moved and could not take her. According to the charity, she is a little nervous at first but quickly settles down and is a typical mad kitten once she's settled, which does not take very long.

She along with others will be at the charity's next adoption day on Saturday January 25 at Stow Park Church Hall on Brynhyfryd Road, Newport, from 2pm.

Cats Protection is the UK's leading feline welfare charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray, unwanted or homeless cats and educating people about cats and cat welfare.

At the adoption event, as well as viewing the animals visitors can talk to the branch co-ordinator and other volunteers who can match them with a cat which suits them. There will be Cats Protection merchandise on sale and refreshments will be available.
