A NEWBRIDGE author with a penchant for life in the fast lane has published two novels which will be distributed to libraries across Caerphilly county borough.
Brian Bodman, 71, has previously published one novel called ‘Paper Round’, an erotic tale of life growing up in the South Wales Valleys.
But the father-of-two, and former manager at Pontnewydd and Abergavenny British Legions, has just self-published two of his most recent works, ‘Faraday’s Eyes’ and ‘Interregnum’, and hopes that they will be a hit with readers of all ages.
Mr Bodman, who is originally from Pontllanfraith, said: “I like to write stuff that I myself would like to read. I consider myself a good writer, but I read a lot as well.”
Like his first publication more than 10 years ago, the novels deal with themes such as gambling and violence.
Mr Bodman added: “Sex I know about, gambling I know about – principally horse racing – the rest is entirely up to being well-read and having a vivid imagination.”
Caerphilly council has ordered dozens of the novels to be distributed to libraries across the county borough, and feel it is important to support local authors such as Mr Bodman.
Gareth Evans, Caerphilly council’s senior manager for library services, said: “Caerphilly Library Service tries to ensure that residents have a chance to get their hands on the latest novels written bylocal authors.”
‘Faraday’s Eyes’ and ‘Interregnum’ are both available to buy now on amazon.co.uk
