THE A469 between Pontlottyn and New Tredegar remains closed to traffic, Caerphilly council has said.
A drainage survey was completed this week and design work has started, but a topographical survey has been delayed due to the bad weather.
"Ground monitoring has continued and movement in the carriageway appears to have reduced significantly," said the council in a statement.
"Welsh Water are currently considering their options to address the water main problems at the site. The council will continue to work closely with Welsh Water to agree a programme of works that will involve repairs to the water main, drainage and to the carriageway.
"Everyone involved is committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible, but it is acknowledged that the road will remain closed for a number of weeks to accommodate the works. All efforts are being made to to reopen the road at the earliest practical opportunity."
