  • "I fail to understand why a programme of felling which is due to start in November during the "off-season" when there are far fewer visitors to forest Drive anyway would necessitate the permanent closure of the site.

I get the impression that the diseased trees are being used as an excuse for a cost saving exercise. That was as much as admitted by Natural Resources Wales when their spokesman said they were they were "exploring all possible funding options"."

Are you one of the hundreds of thousands of people who use Gwent's biggest tourist attraction? Are you concerned that it could close in November, never to re-open again?

If you are, our reporter Emma Mackintosh would like to speak to you.
