  • "I travelled last month to newport, road up to the drive, did the trail road back to newport and caught the train home again.
The Cwmcarn forest trail was well worth the visit, early in the morning, no dogs, virtually no one around, and very few people riding the trail.
I'll be making this a regular visit as back up monmouth way there's little to no other trails around, not even in the largest forest area in monmouth.
The trail here is well thought out, with variying terrain and makes for an interesting and enjoyable ride. I for one would like to see it continue to do so and develop further."

WE brought the news yesterday that the future of Cwmcarn Forest Drive is uncertain due to large-scale tree-felling which will begin in November.

Are you one of the hundreds of thousands of people who use Gwent's biggest tourist attraction? Are you concerned that it could close in November, never to re-open again?

If you are, our reporter Emma Mackintosh would like to speak to you.
