The scenic drive will only be closed during the usual closed season...Oct to March/April... its essential for the diseased trees to be removed....the footpaths and mountain bikeing trail will remain open during the closed season to motorists.... the forestry commision is already planning its replanting programme for the forests management. As one of the major tourist attractions in Caerphilly County there is no way that it will close on a permanent basis. As for those who complain about the £5 entry fee....its less than a packet of cigarettes.... and healthier...otherwis

e try walking it, its free...you will see more, and will get fitter in the process....
I think you'll find that it will be closed for 5 years at a minimum - not just for the "closure" season. as for the forestry commission planning it's replanting programm ............ all I've heard is that it will cost mega-bucks and they don't think they can find the funding anywhere. It's not that many years ago the there was a pot of money from some European funding and they didn't know where to spend it. I assume this has all been spent now??"

Are you one of the hundreds of thousands of people who use Gwent's biggest tourist attraction? Are you concerned that it could close in November, never to re-open again?

If you are, our reporter Emma Mackintosh would like to speak to you.
