WALES and Arsenal soccer star Aaron Ramsey flew by helicopter into Gwent to get married on Saturday.

As these exclusive pictures show, the Caerphilly-born player was taken by chopper to Caldicot Castle where he tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Colleen Rowlands.

Other pictures show Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott with other guests at the star-studded do.

Caldicot councillor John Marshall, welcomed the star's getting hitched locally, saying: “A huge celebrity like Aaron Ramsey getting married at Caldicot Castle is a coup for Caldicot and for the castle.”

A firework display which took place after the wedding is said to have been bigger than the town’s November firework celebrations.

If he's a practising Christian wouldn't he be getting married in a church? Anyway I'm not slagging him off, im sure he's a lovely bloke. I just have to live near the place when he's letting off fireworks late.

I was only pointing out the south Wales argus didn't didn't get the county right. Good on him for coming back to his wife's home town to get married, but 11pm fireworks that carried on for a bit was a bit rude, especially when they rivalled the bonfire nights exhibition they hold there at a more decent time, as it's ridiculously loud.

I think it was lovely that they chose to get married in the castle but I do think it would have been decent if he had informed local residents of the planned fireworks - they were very very loud and very late at night!

But you're wrong, Caldicot is in Gwent. Just because Gwent County Council was broken up and replaced by Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen etc, doesn't mean that the geographical county of Gwent ceased to exist. If you had rung the police about the fireworks, would it not be Gwent Police you would have called?
