Tribute to Blackwood man

A 31-YEAR-OLD man from Blackwood who sustained wounds in an incident on Bryn Road and Apollo Way in Blackwood has died.

He has been named as Michael Lee Emmett.

A murder probe has been launched into the incident, which occured on Friday August 1. Mr Emmett died on Tuesday this week.

A second man, a 44-year-old, also from Blackwood, was also wounded on August 1.  He received hospital treatment and has since been released.

Mr Emmett’s partner, Natalie, said in tribute to him: “Michaelee was a true gentleman, always putting others first. He was a fantastic father to our twin boys and we know he would have adored his first daughter.  He wasn't just my partner and father to our children, he was my soul mate, my best friend and was cruelly snatched away too soon. But he will never be forgotten and he will be loved always.”

A 16-year-old boy from Blackwood was arrested following the incident.

He was originally charged with two counts of section 18 wounding, breach of an ASBO and assault on police.
