FALSE ALARM: Six fire crews attended Cwmcarn High School this morning after receiving reports of a possible explosion on site.
FIREFIGHTERS attended Cwmcarn High School this morning after receiving reports of a possible explosion on site.
But a spokesman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the so-called explosion was a result of a tyre blowing up on a nearby scrapyard.
He said six crews from Abercarn, Risca, Aberbargoed, Cwmbran and Maindee were sent at 7.15am due to the nature of the call claiming the explosion came from the school site.
