CAERPHILLY county borough is taking a stand against domestic violence as part of a new social media campaign.

The #caerphillystandingtogether campaign aims to aims to raise awareness of domestic violence and the support services available in Caerphilly county borough.

Residents have been uploadeding a photos of their feet to Twitter with the hashtag #caerphillystandingtogether to show they believe all violence in all forms is wrong.

Residents of all ages across the community have been getting involved, including members of the Caerphilly Youth Forum, and the Gwent Police dogssection even tweeted their paws in support of the campaign.

Cllr David Poole, cabinet member for community and leisure services and one of Caerphilly’s domestic abuse ambassadors, said: “This campaign is has aimed to raise awareness of a subject which is rarely talked about that but can have a devastating impact on individuals and families across our communities.

“We urge are still encouraging as many people as possible to get involved and to stand together with us against domestic violence.”
