DETAILS of the handover of the Sioux ghost shirt believed to have been worn by a fallen warrior at the massacre at Wounded Knee in 1890, and which has been at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery since 1891, have been revealed by the city council. Councillors Liz Cameron and John Lynch, and head of museums Mark O'Neill, will fly to South Dakota to attend three days of ceremonies with the Lakota Sioux. The formal handover to a museum will take place on August 2.
