Loch Lomond Golf Club can now make its superb in-house facilities available out of season. It offers a house membership from October 1 to April 30, providing full use of all facilities except golf.

The centrepiece - and the clubhouse - is Rossdhu House, an elegant eighteenth century mansion that was once the ancestral home of the Clan Colquhoun. Affording stunning views, it sits on a wooded peninsula, guarded on three sides by the banks of Loch Lomond.

A total of 23 individually designed suites are available in Rossdhu House, the Carriage House (situated beside Rossdhu Bay) and the Garden Cottages, which nestle close by the historic walled garden. Every room in Rossdhu has its unique personality, finished in rich fabrics and exquisite soft furnishing. An array of antiques helps create a grand aura of period Scottish life.

The Founders Room is an ideal location for private dinners, weddings, other celebrations and business meetings. It can accommodate up to 20 people for boardroom-style use, or 30 theatre-style.

Loch Lomond Golf Club offers its house members access to traditional outdoor pursuits. these include boating on the loch, driven pheasant shooting on nearby Luss Estates, fly fishing and hill walking. The club hosts sev-eral hunting parties in the winter season and offers clay pigeon shooting. Instruction, including the safe use of guns, can be given to the novice, while team events and competitions are arranged for members and guests.

There is fishing for rainbow trout, in the club's private loch and on the estate, and for large pike in Rossdhu Bay. Fishing parties, including excursions to the Rivers Tay and Teith for salmon fishing, can be organised early in the new year.

They can also enjoy a winter calendar of events which offers activities for the whole family, from a tradit-ional Burns Supper to an Easter egg hunt on the estate. These events are the perfect way to meet other members or to entertain guests.
