A woman wanted in connection with a suspected hit-and-run collision that left an 11-year-old boy dead has been spotted in her home city, police revealed yesterday.
Sam Riddall died after a car mounted the pavement and ploughed into him as he walked home from a church youth service in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, on Friday evening.
Avon and Somerset Police took the unusual step of releasing the name and image of the suspected driver, who was witnessed fleeing the scene - 27-year-old Hannah Saaf, from Kingswood, Bristol.
Yesterday, police re-appealed for information to trace the mother-of-two.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Gary Stephens said: "There have been reported sightings of her in the Bristol area and police would appeal for her to come forward to help with their inquiries.
"Hannah is the registered keeper of the car involved in the collision, registration number X391NOK. She is described as slim and around 5ft 9in tall.
"Police need to speak to her as a matter of urgency and there are concerns for her welfare."
He added: "Hannah has previous connections to Bristol, Taunton, Glastonbury, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and London."
Revealing Ms Saaf's identity yesterday, Inspector Rob Pearson said her friends and relatives had not been able to provide police with information of her whereabouts.
It is not known whether Ms Saaf - mother of twins Guy and Leo - and her husband Nicholas Saaf are still together.
