COLIN HENDRY, the Clyde manager, will make the signing of a striker his priority when the transfer window opens.

So far this season his current crop of frontmen have only got three of the club's 17 league goals and again on Saturday, he had defenders to thank for this win - centre half Craig McKeown and full-back Neil McGregor.

Hendry admitted: "I have been saying for four months now that we need to add players. The window is coming up and we will do our best to bring some players in to challenge the boys that are in possession of the jerseys at the moment. Obviously, our finishing needs to be attended to and I will try to do that next month."

The game did not start too well for Clyde. Indeed, only eight minutes had elapsed when they found themselves a goal down, Robert Snodgrass providing the inch perfect cross for Graham Dorrans to bullet home a header from 10 yards.

McKeown, however, came to Clyde's rescue two minutes before the break, drilling low into the net after Ruari MacLennan's initial fluffed attempt.

It was McGregor's turn to bail his side out with 15 minutes remaining when he prodded home from close range from a corner on the right by Christian Smith.

Gary Arbuckle had a great chance to add another in the final minute when he was set free inside the area by Sean McKenna, a substitute, but he contrived to shoot straight at Colin Stewart.
