TWO men were injured last night in a pit bull attack in Dumbarton's

Muir Road. Witnesses said the dog first attacked an elderly man who was

looking after it for a friend.

Neighbour David Allardyce, 11, said the man was bitten in the stomach,

legs and arms. He said another neighbour heard the commotion and rushed

from his home to try to pull the dog off. He, too, was attacked before

both men managed to escape into a house. Police were called and managed

to capture the dog. It was not clear how seriously the men were injured.
