SUBJECT to modifications, Fife Regional Council has been given the
go-ahead by Scottish Secretary Ian Lang, for major residential and
commercial developments, mainly affecting West Fife. The principal
change reduces the scale of proposed developments to the east of
Dunfermline, and he has proposed that a more specific commitment should
be made to road improvements in the ''Halbeath Corrider'', and plans for
a Pitreavie Link Road.
