A SHERIFF yesterday sympathised with a man who acted aggressively

towards an ambulance crew taking him to hospital after he had been

stabbed.

Steven Brown, 30, admitted at Haddington Sheriff Court causing a

breach of the peace outside a house Muirhouse Terrace, Tranent, East

Lothian, on December 1.

The court was told that Brown, of Kerr Road, Tranent, had allegedly

been stabbed in the thigh by a woman.

When an ambulance team arrived Brown began shouting and swearing at

them and refusing to go to hospital.

Sheriff David Crowe said: ''If someone stuck a knife in your thigh and

you are bleeding heavily, are you not entitled to be aggressive?''

He deferred sentence until February 7.
