STRATHCLYDE police confirmed yesterday that they had been called in by
the directors of Rangers Football Club to investigate alleged
irregularities at the club's ticket office.
It is believed that the police were approached after the club's own
internal checks showed that further investigations were necessary. It
was not known how long the police involvement would last or whether any
criminal proceedings are likely to follow.
