AN elderly couple were found murdered yesterday in the cowshed of
their isolated smallholding near Llanharry, Mid Glamorgan. One theory
being investigated by detectives is that Mr Harry Tooze, 67, who was
shot in the head, and his wife Megan, 65, were killed by an intruder who
came to rob them. Mr Tooze was a retired fruit wholesaler.
The police went to the farm after a neighbouring farmer had failed to
get any response from inside the house. He had gone there after being
called by the couple's daughter, Cheryl, who telephoned her parents
daily from her home in Orpington, London.
