COLIN Bruce (Selkirk) won the #1000 prize for victory in the Jedforest

110 metres handicap sprint at Jedforest Border Games. Running off a

handicap of seven metres, he won in 11.20sec, from Ian Falconer

(Earlston) and Steve Russell (Jedburgh).

Steven Hendry (Edinburgh) won the #250 prize in the 800m and Colin

Struthers (Jedburgh) finished first in the 1500m with 4-0.5.

* MANCHESTER University student Neil Wilkinson (Cambuslang Harriers),

who runs for Scotland in the Snowdon International hill race later this

month, won the Mytholmroyd Fell Race against a top-class field of

runners.

He covered the seven-mile course with 1350 feet of climbing in 48min

23sec to defeat Rob Owen (Blackburn AC) by 34 seconds.

* FIFE runner Steve Doig (Old Gaytonians) finished third in the

Perivale 5000m road race in 15min 24sec. The event was won by Ali

Mohammed (Thames Valley) in 15-08, with David Rocks (Finn Valley) runner

up three seconds ahead of the Scot.

* BRIAN Winning (Scottish Borders AC) recorded a sprint double in the

Border League meeting at Tweedbank, Galashiels, winning the 100m in 11.5

and the 400m in 52.1. His clubmate, Stephan Hayward took the discus with

43.31m. Result:
