MAURICE EDU has already faced David Beckham in the MLS - now he can't wait to tackle him again when AC Milan arrive in Glasgow at the start of next month.

The American international went head-to-head with the world's most famous footballer during the former England captain's stint in the States with LA Galaxy And Edu admits Walter Smith's men are excited about the prospect of taking on household names such as Beckham and Kaka at Ibrox on February 4.

He said: "These are the kind of games you live to play for. It's great that we are playing AC Milan and coming up against all their world-class players.

"They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, there is a lot of history there and their squad is dripping with outstanding players.

"So it's a good chance for Rangers to test themselves against that opposition and see where we stand.

"I've played against Beckham before and I still think he is a great player. A lot of people perhaps expected him to drop off when he moved to America.

"But he has been able to remain a part of the England squad, so that proves the standard back home isn't as poor as people perceive.

"It's going to be good to hopefully get the chance to go up against him again now that he is currently loaned out to AC Milan."

Edu has struggled to make the breakthrough into the Rangers first team, but he remains positive about his chances.

He added: "It can be frustrating at times, but the coaches have really encouraged me recently and I'm coming in every day and working hard in training."

Edu was joined at Murray Park by former AC Milan and Rangers striker Mark Hateley.

And the powerful striker says: "I'm looking forward to meeting a few old friends when Milan come over to Glasgow.

"It's a great chance for the Rangers fans to see some of the best players in the world."

Tickets for the match are on sale now priced £25 for adults and £12 for concessions and are available online at www.rangers.co.uk or via the ticket hotline 0971 701 1972.
