THE team at the Newbridge Memo are making one last appeal for people to show their support for the iconic venue by voting for it in the nationwide National Lottery Awards competition.

The Newbridge Memo, a memorial hall and miner's institute, has been restored to its former glory and is now a music venue and meeting place with a new library and information centre offering learning, cultural and heritage activities for the local community.

It is the only Welsh project competing against six other projects to be crowned the winner in the ‘Heritage’ category and has beaten off competition from 620 different organisations to reach the final stage of this year’s National Lottery Awards – the annual search for the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects.

The iconic facility has received over £2.9 million National Lottery funding through the Heritage Lottery Fund and £500,000 through Big Lottery Fund for the restoration of one of Wales most iconic buildings.

The deadline to vote for the Newbridge Memo is midnight on Wednesday (July 29). Simply visit www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards or call 0844 836 9674.
