GWENT Police are asking people to be aware of e-mails claiming to have come from HM Revenue and Customs notifying you of a tax refund.
The e-mail asks you to provide personal details such as your name, date of birth, telephone number and address, as well as payment details such as the card holder’s name, c ard number, expiry date, account number and sort code.
Along with details to verify your identity such as your driving licence number, National Insurance number and your mother’s maiden name.
They ask you to check all theis information then submit.
Gwent Police have said do not reply to this e-mail as it is a scam and HM Revenue and Customs will not ask for all these details.
If you have been sent an email, then ring Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
