THE trial of a mum who allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old boy has been adjourned after fresh evidence was found by investigators.

Karen Seldon, 44, of Abercarn, is accused of grooming the school boy and was due to take to the witness box yesterday before the trial was adjourned.

She denies inappropriately touching and having sex with the 15-year-old after sending him a string of explicit photographs and Facebook messages saying: "Let's Get Naughty".

Recorder Paul Hopkins QC said the trial at Newport Crown Court would recommence on Thursday to allow both the prosecution and defence teams to examine a possible new lead.

He told the jury: "As does happen on occasions new information has been received in the eleventh hour so I'm afraid I'll have to discharge you for the day."

Seldon, of Llanover Street, Abercarn is accused of sending sexual pictures to the boy on Facebook and inviting him to her house where they slept together.

But she told police that the boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - invented claims, branding him a "fantasist and a liar".
