SINCE the recent launch of our partnership with Brace's Bread to mark their new £10,000 Community Sport Fund, we have already received more than 200 applications.

The new Brace's Bread scheme is set up to support grassroots sports clubs doing fantastic work within their communities.

Grants of £250-£500 are available to small sporting organisations across South East Wales and The Valleys.

From kit sponsorship and new sports equipment to sport events and training for coaches, the grants will help keep community sport alive.

In 2014, Brace’s sponsored Blackwood RFC under 9s and paid for all in one warm up kits for the players.

Chris Stebbings, club manager said: “We want to say a huge thank you to Brace’s for their support over the years. It can be really difficult to raise the funds for things like kits which make the kids really feel part of the team. The fund is a great idea and will hopefully help more small clubs like us benefit from Brace’s sponsorship.”

Interested sporting organisations can apply for a slice of Brace’s Community Sport Fund grant now by completing a simple application form on bracesbakery.co.uk

Applications will close on Thursday May 26, 2016.
