A POPULAR Gwent pub has reopened this week after an extensive refurbishment took place to breathe new life into the site.
Costing £240,000, The Dragonfly in Lakeside Drive, Coedkernew closed for four days while the work was completed with the aim of making it a “foodie” hotspot for Newport.
Head chef, Luke Doubler, said: “I want to help put The Dragonfly on the map as a real foodie destination. The pub will have a relaxed atmosphere and be welcoming to all, focused on quality, freshly-prepared ingredients, with amazing flavours.”
The overhaul includes an updated bar area, new carpets, three log fires, and a warm décor throughout. There is also additional seating in the dining area to cater for large group bookings.
The Dragonfly was previously known as The Celtic Springs, referring to a sacred spring located nearby.
