POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a suspected kidnapping incident at a train station in the Caerphilly area.
The appeal — launched by British Transport Police — is linked to an altercation at Hengoed railway station on December 1 last year.
Police state that at 9.35am, a woman was picked up by a man who was known to her and carried her out of the station over his shoulder.
The woman was then taken to a house, where she left a short time later.
She was not injured in the incident and reported it to police in January 2017.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and is on bail until March 22.
Investigating officer, Det Con Chris Bolton, said: “It was early on a Thursday morning when this incident occurred and so there would have been a number of people around who could have seen what happened.
“If you saw anything, please let us know by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016, with the reference 166 of 13 March.”
