A TOTAL of 73 people appeared in Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court yesterday following a second investigation into alleged ‘crash for cash’ scams across Gwent.

Operation Dino Part II is a Gwent Police investigation into fraudulent insurance claims after crashes.

The defendants are accused of conspiring with others to defraud companies involved in the insurance industry by making and submitting false claims.

The charges allege motor vehicles were taken to a garage known as St David’s Accident Repair Centre or Easifix, and to another garage known by various names including P&S Autos, Sean’s Recovery or Albion Garage.

It also alleges the vehicles were taken to garages known as Duffryn Crash Repair and CARS.
