ANEURIN Bevan University Health Board is looking to appoint an executive director of public health.

A spokeswoman for the health board said: “As one of the largest health boards in Wales, the organisation is responsible for the delivery of health services to more than 600,000 people, employing circa 13,000 staff in South East Wales.

“We are highly ambitious for the communities we serve and the people we employ, with exciting plans for the future.

“We have clear values about how we do business which underpin everything we do.”

The spokeswoman said the person appointed will need to have “exceptional” leadership, decision making and an ability to communicate and develop “robust” relationships at all levels.

“Their leadership will enable the health board to achieve continuous clinical excellence, outstanding patient care, financial sustainability and maintain a strong values based culture,” she said. “They will be the principle public health advisor, offering a strategic vision and adding value to our board of directors, contributing to our ambitious improvement and innovation agenda.”
