The 15-YEAR-OLD who died after an incident on a Caerphilly mountain has been named as Shauna Davies.

The teenager, from Caerphilly, died after emergency services were called to an area off Caerphilly Mountain Road in Caerphilly following concerns for her health. 

Police have stated the girl died shortly after paramedics and police officers attended the scene.

A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "Shauna’s family are being supported by specialist officers at this time.

The circumstances surrounding her death are not yet known and an investigation is ongoing."

FOUR people were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs following the death of a 15-year-old girl in Caerphilly.

They had been taken to hospital for checks following concerns for their health and, after their arrest, were subsequently released pending further investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Brain, who is leading on the investigation said: “At this time enquiries are ongoing and the investigation in this young girl’s death are still in the early stages.

"During our work we will be looking into whether any substances have been a contributing factor into this incident however; this is just one of our lines of enquiry at this time.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time."

POLICE are appealing for information following the death of a 15-year-old girl from the Caerphilly area.

This morning, emergency services were called to an area off Caerphilly Mountain Road in Caerphilly following concerns for the health of a girl.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “Shortly after paramedics and police officers attended the scene, the 15-year-old girl from the Caerphilly area sadly passed away.

“The circumstances surrounding this death is not yet known and an investigation is ongoing”.

Gwent Police added that four people are in police custody “helping the police with their investigation” and that the girl’s family are being supported by specialist officers.
