IT'S that time of the year where you can get in the festive mood ahead for Christmas.

On December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 visitors can come to Cwmcarn Forest Visitor Centre to see Father Christmas and his snowy wonderland.

Visitors can go and visit Father Christmas and feed the reindeers as well as receive a gift.

Visiting times are between 10am and 3.30pm and booking is essential.

The cost is £6 per child which includes a gift.

Also on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 is the Blackwood Winter Fair.

Visitors will be able to browse a wide variety of food and craft stalls around the fair as well as independent shops and high street brands which are in the area.

The fair takes place from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

There is not only an opportunity to get your Christmas shopping but there will be a chance for visitors to meet the man himself - that's right - Father Christmas.

Santa's Grotto will be located inside Tidal's Store and children will receive a special gift. Visitors to the grotto will be greeted by the elves and real reindeers as they make their way into the grotto.

As well as stalls and a grotto, the town will be filled with a variety of funfair rides.
