A MAN demanded drugs and money while brandishing a knife in an aggravated burglary, police have said.

The aggravated burglary took place at approximately 2.30pm, on Tuesday, April, 10, at an address in Clos Trefin, Pontllanfraith.

A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said a man wearing a hi-visibility jacket knocked on the door of the house and asked the woman who answered if he could use her toilet. He was allowed into the premises.

The spokeswoman added: "A second man, also wearing a hi-visibility jacket along with gloves and a hat covering his face, then entered the house and demanded drugs and money. He did this while brandishing a kitchen knife.

"Meanwhile, a third man approached the property and held the front door closed from the outside.

"The three men then left the property in the direction of Ivor Street, in Pontllanfraith. No items were stolen."
