WALES centre Tyler Morgan has agreed a contract extension to stay with the Dragons.

The 22-year-old from Caerleon is yet to put pen to paper but terms have been agreed on a deal that is exclusively with the Rodney Parade region rather than a national dual contract, which he signed in December, 2014.

The four-times capped centre has endured a frustrating season after making a bright start to the campaign with injuries limiting him to nine appearances.

Morgan’s early form earned a call-up to the Wales squad for the autumn internationals but he suffered an ankle injury against the Ospreys in October, the final game before he was set to link up with Warren Gatland’s squad.

He made his comeback in February but then suffered a foot injury when claiming a high ball in training that required surgery.

Nonetheless, Morgan is a key figure for the Dragons and will be back in pre-season ahead of a sixth campaign at Rodney Parade.

Meanwhile, wing/centre Pat Howard will move to Ealing Trailfinders this summer after two seasons with the region. The South African made 35 appearances after joining from Munster.
