A TEENAGER says she was honoured to represent Wales at an international pageant where she was a runner-up.

Mia-Rose Lewis from Newbridge was named Miss Teen Galaxy Wales in March and last week represented Wales at the international Galaxy pageant in Orlando, Florida.

She said: "It truly is an honour that I could only but dream of, I still can’t quite believe I have been given the opportunity to represent my country on an international scale.”

The winner of the Miss Teen Galaxy crown was Yari Marcano from Massachusetts and Miss Lewis was second runner-up in the competition.

Although she didn’t take the title, the 18-year-old said she made new friends and got to take part in a pool-side photo shoot and other activities.

She said: “I have had the privilege of sharing the most amazing experience with all my new sister queens.

“I have truly had the best week meeting gorgeous, inspiring women from all over the world, we’ve exchanged gifts at orientation, has fun at the poolside glam shoot, shared our stories at the PJ party and danced the night away at the white party.

“I have made friendships that are second to none, friendships I will treasure forever and always.”
